Object Oriented CSS (OOCSS): The Lowdown « typesett -

Great overview of OOCSS. I've been working towards for some time now. I break my objects out by discipline. Layout, Typography, Forms, etc.

You can see a sample of what I use here: http://github.com/davemerwin/starterkit

Have you checked out the Compass + Sass framework? I have been using it for a project and it really rocks - and it makes it so easy to get more OO in your CSS coding. The indenting of SASS is FTW!

If you missed my post on it - here is a little intro to how I used it:
http://andrewdc.posterous.com/behold-the-awesome-power-of-sass-mixins

So far I have been way impressed - and it's great because Compass comes with all of the starterkit type stuff that you always need from the beginning and you just include them as a Mixin (e.g. +blueprint, +960grid, etc).

I don't know if I will every be able to go back...

I want to, I really do, but I've got a solid platform going now. Ugh... you're like the 20th person that has mentioned it. Maybe I just need to dive in. Time is SO precious though... what to do, what to do.

Well - the first thing you can do is use the css2sass conversion.... ;) Although, this is certainly not the easiest way to get into it - I tried it and it worked.

Really though - you would probably do better starting with a fresh project. Still, it's so useful - it may be worth making the jump midstream.
